Office of Mitchell K Black, CPA is a tax services firm serving clients throughout the Midcoast Maine area and beyond, dedicated to providing clients with professional, personalized services and guidance in a wide range of financial and business needs.
As a one-person CPA practice, I offer direct, hands-on service without the layers of a large firm.
My services include:

- Consulting for college education planning, Social Security/retirement planning, business financing, and business buy/lease decisions

I do not provide bookkeeping or payroll services, but I work closely with clients and bookkeepers to ensure accurate and efficient tax filings. I review clients’ QuickBooks files, make the necessary changes to submit the tax return, and ensure that each client’s QuickBooks matches the tax return filing. I also close the books so no changes can be made to the QuickBooks to maintain continuity with the tax returns.
I offer secure portals to facilitate the exchange of information for tax return preparation and for the upload of electronic copies of client tax returns. I offer the option to sign returns electronically and to set up appointments through my website. Also, with the changing environment for mandating electronic tax payments, I provide direct debit options for both current-year tax payments and next-year estimated tax payments.
